In this video, Wellness Psychotherapy therapists Cate Desjardins and Anton Babushkin answer common questions parents have about their school-aged child being in therapy.

Cate describes how she helps children ages five and older, focusing on how she includes parents in their child’s treatment and manages confidentiality in her work with children. Additionally, Cate and Anton discuss a comment they often hear from the parents of children in therapy: “My kid says all they do with you is play!” This leads into a discussion of the the important role of play in therapy with children, focusing on how play in therapy builds a safe, trusting relationship between the child and therapist and serves as an important source of communication and change in child therapy.
